Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Tikee time lapse cameras (for privacy and GDPR compliance)

Enlaps has developed artificial intelligence algorithms on mytikee time lapses creation platform. Among the available features:

  • Blurring people : for your time lapse to be GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant, our algorithms allow you to obtain a selective blurring in order to anonymize the visible and recognizable persons on the different projects.
  • Vehicle detection and counting and/or people : our technology allows you to obtain data over the entire duration of your project (see different graphs below).

Thanks to its 220 ° horizontal angle, the Tikee camera covers a very large field of vision.
Thanks to its very high resolution, it also offers good detection performance.

Using Artificial Intelligence to comply with the GDPR and blurring people

Main goal:

Anonymization of a scene (photo or video) to respect the right to privacy in a time lapse video in accordance with the GDPR and the CNIL.

Use of Artificial Intelligence for detection and counting of vehicles

Main goals:

Detection:

  • Activity Tracking
  • On-site affluence

Counting:

  • Number of vehicles
  • Traffic Analysis (per hour, per type, etc.)

Since our Tikee time lapse cameras deliver high-resolution images (up to 6k), data protection and privacy issues must be taken into account when using them. One example is their use as construction cameras, both for individual images and for finished time lapse videos. Construction workers or visitors could be individually identified on a time lapse video, and their privacy must be protected, especially according to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

With 25 frames per second of time lapse film, the amount of work required to process the images by hand would be disproportionately high. It would also cause a considerable delay in the use of the images.

To prevent this from happening, and to make your time lapse GDPR compliant, Enlaps has developed AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms that automatically perform real time anonymization. Our Tikee time lapse cameras go further than ordinary webcams: visible and recognizable people are individually identified and then made unrecognizable using ‘pixelation’, i.e., a precisely limited blurring.

Areas of an image section that do not belong to the actual construction site— falling therefore in the ‘public space’ category— are also protected in terms of data privacy. Our time lapse cameras allow you to delimit those areas before the recording begins, allowing them to be automatically anonymized later, also using blurriness / ‘pixelation’.

After subscribing to our time lapse web application, mytikeePRO, Enlaps will contact you to discuss your needs regarding pixelation or masking.

Image transfers to secure servers in the cloud, along with storage and downloading are done using an encrypted protocol.
